• The Mexican Mafia is known as being one of the largest and most violent gangs in the San Andreas today. The Mexican Mafia is run by a group of inmates serving time in Red County Prison. The gang has strongholds both within prisons and in communities in different locations in the San Andreas and Mexico.
• Mexican Mafia or Mafia Mexicana ( on Spanish), originally a vicous prison-gang, was formed in late 1950's by a group of young Hispanic gang members. One of the formers of La eMe is Emilio "Rascal" Ruiz. Throughout the years, the small prison-gang developed itself to a highly sophisticated criminal enterprise that is active mainly in the drug trade and extortion area, thouhgh also has its hand in murder-for-jire, weapon traffic, money laundering, assistance of illegal immigration, gambling and the list goes on and on.
• In the middle 90's, it became one of the most feared and brutal crime syndicate in San Andreas, the organisation saw the potential in having the prison system as head-quarters and decided to use it against various latino street gangs in Los Santos. All major street-gang leaders were called for a meeting with Mexican Mafia representatives and were demanded to follow a set of rules. Failure to follow rules is considered a punishable offense that can go as far as death.
• In middle 2013 there was a federal indictment of over 100 gang members, including a Mexican Mafia boss that was arrested in a raid in El Corona, Emilio Ruiz. Nowadays, La eMe is one of the strongest prison-gang in Red Country Prison, along with Aryan Brotherhood and Black Apostles. The Mexican Mafia holds a loose alliance with the Aryan Brotherhood, mainly due to their common rivals.
