Information regarding name changes

Changing names and transferring your data is as easy as it sounds when using MySQL. Every single table is connected to your database ID and not your username with which you registered the account. Because of that, changing your name is like setting someone's admin level.

When am I entitled to get a name change?
Whenever you join a faction. We have adapted WCL's original way of handling names on the server and that is with a tag in front of it or no tag at all. The tag tells people on the server which gang you're with. Obviously, the tag is obsolete nowadays because the script doesn't have any checks on what tag is in front of your name (it did in the early days), though, it has become a very symbolic tradition to have it.

What if I want to leave my gang but still roleplay the same character?
Many gangs abide by the saying: "blood in, blood out", this means that you as a gang member must remain loyal or else die. Leaving a gang that abides by this saying is considered CK'ing your character (unless a proper and well written story around it has been provided by the leaver). If you still want to leave your gang and roleplay the same character (what not often happens) then feel free to contact me with all the necessary information, and I will look into it.

A very important note: when joining or leaving a gang, you cannot change your name to something else. Yepperson cannot become [PD]Belgica when joining PD. Vice versa, [PD]Yepperson cannot become Belgica when leaving PD. Name changes only add and remove the tag when asked for and when the requirements have been met!

We are not going to implement the use of tags.
