Zemunski Klan

Zemunski Klan, or "Zemunci" as people called them, was one of the biggest drug cartels on Balkan. They were selling drugs all over the Balkan and some Asian countries. They were known for their strenght, number of soldiers, hitmans, murders, and such. Leaders of this clan managed to develop from nothing to biggest threat of the many countries in less then 10 years. Buying mansions, hotels and people in government they made their place in Serbia secure. They believed nothing can touch them, as they owned half of the country and the people in it. 2010 was golden year for this clan, because that's the time when they had the most power ever. They thought they could do anything they want to anybody and get away with it without any trouble. Having 12,000 members behind their backs, and Serbian Special force called "JSO" or "Jedinica Specijalnih Operacija ( Unit for Special Operations )", they showed to everybody that they are not people to mess with. After death of Zeljko Raznatovic "Arkan" they took over the Serbian underground and all of the power that remained. But, as everything in our lives, nothing lasts forever. One mistake made this clan fall apart completely, leaving them empty handed. You'll see how even biggest forces in the world can fall apart in matter of seconds. Let's begin our story.


As any other good story, we got to start from the beginning. In one small village on the south of Serbia, two boys grew up, not knowing eachother yet. In the 70's, life was pretty easy in Serbia, Yugoslavia provided all people within it with good jobs, houses, insurances and such. But that was changed later, but we'll get there. Growing up in a village was lots of easier then in Belgrade. In Belgrade, older generation of criminals were fighting for their position in the underground, but police was so strong that they had no power, so most of them went to Italy. Those two boys knew nothing about criminal at all, they planned to continue their family tradition, working in a mine nearby, living in village and such. But they didnt want that. They had big plans, they wanted to be billionaires, to own countries, to be famous, to have prettiest females next to them and best cars. It was more of a fantasy then a plan, but still, they hopped to achieve that. In high school those two boys finally met and they started hanging out with eachother a lot. They became best friends, both of them got a job in a mine nearby and they werent happy at all. Job was pretty rough, payment was small and they always had some injuries from doing that job. After collecting some money, they bought a bus ticket and they went to Belgrade. Thats where stealing began.


After they came to Belgrade, they had nothing, Not even a dollar. They knew they need to earn some money fast, and they were lucky. You probably wonder why's that? Well, they came in a city full of clans that are killing eachother, full of hate and criminal. Belgrade in 90's was a war zone, and a paradise for criminals. Police had no authority anymore, clans were stealing, trafficking, robbing, selling, everything that made them money. It wasnt too hard for those two men to earn some money. They met the right people, and started stealing cars. All they needed to steal a car was a screwdriver and good location. Hospital was the best location for that, people coming from all over the country to visit somebody in hospital, car is full of stuff and they dont expect to get robbed there. After stealing few cars, making some money, police caught them. They were what police called "obijaci", small thiefs that did no harm to people except stealing their property. Police wrote them a ticket, because whole country was falling apart and punishment's for criminal activities were not that high. After Kristijan and Dejan, those two men, paid the ticket, they left the police station, and they were surprised. One of the clans wanted to meet them. Kristijan and Dejan went to the leader of that clan and they got recruited in it. That clan was not a regular "normal" clan, no, they were a car stealing clan, they only wanted money and power, none of the drugs or killing stuff like other clans. They made quite a name of their clan from the large money income they had from stealing cars. Slowly, Dejan and Kristijan started gathering some new members around them, expanding their small group, stealing lots of more cars and getting more and more of money. Slowly, they gained more power.


At the same time, something interesting was happening on the other side of the world. Milorad Lukovic, nickname "Legija" is coming from a family that had high positions in Serbian army. But Milorad as any other kid at that time, started stealing, and robbing shops. After one robbery, him and two of his friend wounded a cop while he was chasing them. Milorad knew he made a big mistake, and he didnt want to face his family with the problem he made because they were all very strict and in army, he ran away. He bought a ticket to France, and when he came there, he had nothing. No documents at all, he couldnt find a job. He knew he cant start stealing again, because, where will he go then? While he was walking around the city, he saw an advertisement for French Foreign Legion. He would go anywhere except back to Serbia. He went to Foreign Legion headquarters and he joined it. He was a strong man, capable of doing lots of things. But he wasnt perfect yet. The Legion made him perfect. He suffered a lot in it, because he didnt know anybody and lots of members in it were criminals evading the police, just like him. He didnt have any contact with his family at all. After serving few years in the Foreign Legion, he heard about war in Serbia, and he went back to it as completely new person. He joined the force called Arkan's tigers, led by one of the biggest criminals in Serbia Zeljko Raznatovic. That's the place where Milorad reached great power.


While Milorad was fighting the war against Serbian's enemies, Dejan and Kristijan, creators of this clan, gathered lots of new recruits and they started their own small clan. They were stealing more and more cars, but they werent happy anymore with the money income from it. They wanted to do something bigger. After getting some new contacts, they managed to get their hands on some cocaine, and they started selling it on the street. After few months from great income of the money from drugs, they switched to that. Every month they were buying more and more of cocaine and selling it for a very high price. It took them few years and good contacts to make a real forture. In 2005 they were selling half of tone of cocaine in few months to all countries on Balkan. They bought big mansion in Belgrade. Now you see how fast they developed, all because of drugs and great support from other clans. They claimed the first place in the underground, but, only in underground. They werent too happy about it because they wanted more power. And they did get it. In one club, they met Milorad Lukovic, captain of his own unit now called "JSO". They knew if they manage to merge with him, they could do anything they want. As they started meeting with Milorad more and more, and because of Milorad's ambitions to become strongest person in the country, they made a packt. Now, Zemunski Klan got everything they needed to start claiming the country. Soon, they had an army.


You probably wonder what's so interesting about this date? Biggest demonstrations ever in Serbia happed then. That helped this clan a lot. Before the 5th of October, opposition of the government contacted Milorad Lukovic Legija because they needed help of his army. Actually, they wanted him to do nothing when they take over the government. Because Legija was leader of special unit they could make a big difference and stop the demonstration. Legija request bigger power for his unit, and they made a deal! 5th of October finally came, the day when 2 million people were on the streets of Belgrade, fighting against current government. Lots of people died that day, and one interesting thing happend. Zemunski Klan used the chance to make some profit from this. Because everybody was on the street, nobody was guarding police stations. That day, 3 police stations were robbed in Belgrade, clan acquired lots of firearms and the ammunition they needed for their activities. Legija's special unit came out on the street and they respected the deal they made. They did nothing, except to stand on the pavement and watch the oppostion take over the country. At that evening opposition took place in this country, making them a new government. Everybody was happy then, people for getting new government, opposition for managing to finally be leaders of the country, and this clan for gaining more power. They now could import and export the drugs freely, without fear.


Zemunski Klan was enjoying their power. Having private army behind them, and big future infront of them, they didnt worry about anything. They thought whole country was afraid of them. And that's where they were wrong. Few years after the new government claimed the country, they started fighting about organised criminal, and Zemunski Klan didnt like that at all. They didnt like new government anymore, so they made a plan. They thought if they kill prime minister, whole country falls apart and they do what they want. So they did. They gave the order to Milorad Lukovic Legija to kill the prime minister. 12.3.2014, the day when Legija killed Serbian prime minister. After that event, things didnt go as they expected. Government was angry at them and they wanted to stop them at any cost. Every police officer, soldier was called to Belgrade. Action called "Sablja" started against the Zemunski Klan. They chased them all around the country. 10,000 people got arrested along with officers and government workers that were corrupted. While running from government, Dejan got killed by soldiers. Kristijan managed to escape them. He still had some contacts so he managed to get out of the country, and from Croatia he bought a plain ticket to America, going as far as he can from Serbia.

I see everyone supporting you because of its balkan origin. Nevertheless, the topic is very lengthy. I only read the first paragraph and I already found a few grammatical mistakes in there. I usually don't judge someone's leader capability by their grammar but you'll have to work on that.

I will be reading the rest later this evening and tomorrow. I'm not casting my vote just yet.

The thread outlook does for a matter of fact seem very nice. Sure there are a few grammatical mistakes. But it happens (especially for me).

I would support this, but the thread looks very familiar. If I have any rights to do so, I'll take a hold on my vote for now until the day we encounter and role play is revealed.

Also, the fact you copied and pasted this topic doesn't inspire a lot of trust.

EDIT: I have to agree with Belgica; I took the time to read the topic and found a lot of grammatical errors.
Honestly, grammatical errors are not that much of an issue, but seeing as you copied the topic and the fact that I can barely understand some sentences, you should've at least taken the time to correct the mistakes.

I didn't say it isn't your topic, but you still copied it.
You copied it from the other forum and pasted it here, you should at least have corrected the grammatical mistakes and fixed some sentences that don't make sense.

I've read it all (well I've let my phone read it to me). The grammatical mistakes don't exactly make this topic hard to understand it's just a bombardment of information which I'm sure if I were from the Balkan it would have been much easier to process.
Nevertheless, I liked it and have somethings that bother me in it. I like how mid way through you've given the characters real feelings making them human, it'll be great for RP.
It's a well informed topic but I'd shorten it a little making it more appealing but that's just me.
The main thing I did not exactly get and or/liked. Your character is the ex leader of that klan if I understood correctly. It just seems a little bit weird that out of all the places he'd flee to America a country where his capture would be easy, if anything he'd go to an island or maybe the African region. What I'd do this make my character a mid level member of the klan that has during the waves of arrests fleeding to America, and attempting to take over the States with lessons learned from his leadership's failure. Again it's just my point of view, if others are fine with your concept I will gladly support it
